Dwight, they have concentrated on size reduction, it was the size of a ping pong table. I think you are confusing the commercial developments with the HMD displays for the Army, these use a relatively large mechanical (non MEMS) scanners, they also use a larger laser system. And finally the costs are real, this is the reason Microvision targeted this sector, High revenue, low volume. I can foresee the use and further development of the MEMS scanner in the Land Warrior programs where weight, low power consumption and cost are critical factors. Of course this is the basis of the commercial optical scanning engine.
