Yiwu,

Most tech hardware/software cos. are capable of delivering a earnings/revenue shortfall due to a slowdown in spending due to Y2K. The enterprise resource planning (ERP) companies such as SAP, PSFT, Baan, and ORCL have already stated that until they get through Y2K, revs. will be soft. Regarding hardware companies, they have been a little more tight lipped and I sense with the IBM/DELL deal and the heaving insider selling, they are quite aware of what lies ahead.

What companies will be affected by these? Care to speculate?

I couldn't tell you. I believe there will be a slowdown, I'm just not sure when the tough love will commence... ;^)

And also, I thought they all say Y2k problem will only start to affect pc business from 2nd half of the year. How come now it is already?

Regards,
Nick
