IR reiterates it story. From the Yahoo Club Thread. ______________________________________ talked to CPQ IR orangebull (45/M/Spring, TX) Mar 11 1999 3:59PM EST A quick call to CPQ Investor relations revealed the following: * According to the young lady that answered the phone, there will not be any pre-announcement or earnings warning......they expect to meet expectations of $0.33/share. * Their story (and they are sticking to it) is that EM was commenting on the industry in general and not trying to give any guidence to lower CPQ earnings estimates. * They did not do a press release to correct the over reaction because within a day or so many analyst had already lowered expectations......she said they felt they should juct remain silent and let the earnings do the talking. * She said she does not have any info on AV. * She said that 1Q earnings would be announced after 4/15/99 Since CPQ always seems to annouce before the bell on a Wednesday I guess this would indicate earnings will be announced 4/21/99.....the day before the shareholders meeting. Anyone else have a date for 1Q earnings? OBull
