Great comments, ajunkh. Snowboarding!

Boy are you right. We've really got to get SPLN past a pro sports mentality and grab a franchise in participant sports. This market is just huge--with fantastic e-commerce potential--and it's just not well-organized on the Web.

Was struck by a comment made by CMGI's David Wetherell in their conference call Thursday afternoon. They were talking about "digital collectibles," say a *limited edition* digital Michael Jordan card with hot links to rare video footage and multimedia career game highlights. He believes people want, will pay for and will trade this stuff. One of CMGI's companies is developing this technology. Just shows you what you can do with a site like SPLN. (Believe it or not, he even mentioned collectible digital "Beanie Babies!" I kid you not.)

Excellent post ajunkh. I was a little surprised though, as I thought Jordan would be number one in China...<g> I have always thought the international aspect of this online sports phenomenon is underappreciated.

And as for you Sleeper, aside from keeping up with this thread, I spend a good bit of time reading BAM's posts.. lol...
