Bankers Trust Co. to pay $63.5 million in fines for falsifying records

<< Bankers Trust Co. pleaded guilty on Thursday in federal court to three counts of falsifying bank records. It will pay $63.5 million in fines.

The bank admitted that several employees, including a senior managing director and a managing director, sought to make their performance look better between 1989 and 1996 by recording $19.1 million in unclaimed funds as revenue and reserves. -- cont'd -- >>
