RE: Canadian/American hand shake.

I normally dislike mergers and the disruptions and challenges they create.

This is unusual. First, the CEO's are genuine friends and like each other.

Second, the product lines are wildly complimentary. Once they create integrated subsystems, we get to see higher average selling prices, higher gross margins and deeper customer design lock ins.... Gosh Darn it!

Third, the optical community is small and lots of the JDS/Uniphase engineers are old friends and are having reunions of sorts. The things I'm hearing about the integration work are so sappy and sweet it's almost corny.

There's only one thing i hate, what happened to UNPH volatility? GO DOWN PUHLEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waiting for the inevitable dips to buy more. The way this stock is trading it'll be a dip to 150 from 200. :-(

Waiting.... I'm sure we'll get a chance this year.....

<< Idea -- Why dont we start a JDS Uniphase Thread, where both JDS and Uniphase
posts are placed? I now follow both companies. >>

I would love to start such a thread however not having done so before I have passed on the request to Pat Mudge who will try to establish one this weekend.

Regards
Glenn
