Satellite Outage Cuts Off AP Service NEW YORK (AP) — A failure of a GE satellite caused widespread disruption of service to members of The Associated Press today. The GE-3 satellite, a major telecommunications satellite that serves all of North America, was spinning and was out of control. GE engineers were trying to regain control.
