If CPQ's IR, as an example, wants to maintain the anonymity of the speaker this is fine as long as in return, they are satisfied when someone calls and merely states that he/she is an investor with some questions. For the anonymous IR person to require a caller to give first and last name before the conversation continues and in return, only give their own first name [no last name offered] if the caller asks is a whole different story. BTW, in my initial conversation with Irma, she never used either my first name or last name in our conversation, despite writing it down [I was even asked to spell it]. Had she given me her last name I would have addressed her as Ms. (or Mrs.). Our local electrical company's customer service department should go down to Texas and give CPQ's IR a crash course on telephone manners when dealing with strangers. Very polite [all last names and titles, on both sides] and *very* helpful. Lynn
