AG Edwards lowered its rating on MediaOne Group (UMG) to "Maintain" from "Accumulate" based on price. Salomon Smith Barney upgraded Novellus Systems (NOVL) to "Buy" from "Outperform." The firm believes the stock's recent 28% decline "discounts the potential downside for the stock almost completely." PaineWebber raised its rating on Seagram (VO) to "Buy" from "Attractive."
