Les, that article forgot one thing about Al Gore. He is really quite unimaginative. This silver spooned scripted politician from birth, doesn't stand a chance.

Bill Bradley will probably run and get the nomination for the Democrats.

There used to be a coffee house that served students at St. Alban's and the National Cathedral School who lived nearby, or could drive, and they didn't mind an occasional visitor. My brother got friendly with some of the people there, and got me to visit a few times. Although I met some nice people, I met quite a few kids who were the most appalling little careerists one could ever hope to meet. Their whole lives were marked by an obsession with playing the system to their advantage. I thought of them when reading the Morris piece, because they were terrified of not getting each step "just so"---- the right school, the right frat or (at Princeton) "dining club", the right grad school, etc. You'd have thought that they lived their life on the edge of a precipice, instead of in the epicenter of privilege.
