My point is that this is not unusual for ORCL. Beat consensus but
not whisper, seems no matter what happens something is not
right for analysts. Talk about pump and dump.


ORCL may have beaten the consensus on a reported basis, but the way the company did it is the problem. Revenues were less than expected in apps, database, and even services. The company made the quarter via the reversal of accrued bonuses to the sales force. The analysts have a valid reason to express concern that the pipeline may not translate to a resurgence in growth in revenues in the current quarter, despite Larry's assurances.

I don't think that the estimate adjustments and rating reductions under these circumstances constitute screwing the customers or pumping and dumping.
