Doug,
I told ya Paybacks on "Bad Karma" can be a real M/F!
(I apologize to anyone long on ADTN! I don't wish losses on anybody!
But......... My opinion is these guys have been hiding slow growth in their increased inventory and price cutting and it's finally caught up with them!) Just my opinion!
Orion X (Remember the PM from about 2 months ago?)
Your buddy,
Jay

Some thoughts :

1. SBC is rolling out DSL service late this year.

2. CPQ & Dell are rolling out PC's equipped to handle DSL, I talked
about this in my TI post.

3.Pairgain stated that shipments for DSL products are ( months ) away.

4. Pairgain is a Gold partner with SBC

5. Pairgain gets an up-grade after the SBC-AOL press

O.K., enough hype, but hey, it doesn't take rocket science, just
connect the dots. If pair does not get this business then I will be
schocked, but IMO, they will. I know that most of you out there hold
pair at much higher levels, unfortunate, but in this case I believe
it would be prudent to average down. For those of us lucky enough to
be building a position at these levels, congratulations. The parts
are coming together, but IMO, we will not see sales that add to the
bottom line until Q-4, and then fiscal year 2000 should really be
great. In the mean time I suppose it is fun to speculate over take
over rumors, and such, but that is not why I bought in, it's for the
long run.

Take care, all

Henry

<<I wonder if any ADTN money is migrating to greener pastures.>>

I would move my money for all the reasons this thread has indicated over the past months: ADSL technology; transformation from a commodity "plugs" business to a network solutions provider; tremendous international potential and impressive sequential growth; top-notch gear that performs head and shoulders above almost all competitors; great client relations (in spite of reduced supplier status at BA - only mis-step in 10 years); Pascoe and his history; and $200+M!

I'll keep my price-beaten (hopefully not too much longer) PAIR.
