I very rarely have problems with SI being slow. But maybe 3 times in the last three weeks it's been down altogether for 10 minutes to an hour in the afternoon.

Today, SI has been just fine. There is probably a slow internet link somewhere between you and SI. You may want to look on the 'Welcome to SI' thread and search for the word tracert. There were some posts a while back on how to find the slow link.
