INDEX UPDATE ==================================== That 10,000 target is getting tough, but the likihood is that we will get there soon. In my book we hit it. We got to 9959 which is only 41 points away from 10,000. In perspective, that 41 DOW points is equalvalent to 21 cents when compared to a $50.00 stock However, here's my point - what is 10,000? It's nothing but a phychological target. With the media pumping it up and with CNBC preparing for their DOW 10,000 SPECIAL REPORT, the smart BIG BOYS are selling the NAZ. From a chess game point of view, this is great for the big boys. Keep the DOW near 10,000 as long as possible by only keeping up 5-10 stocks, so they can get out of stuff they want to without pulling the overall market down hard. They are pocketing their gains. One may say that the NAZ is down hard, but my response is that if the DOW was selling off hard the NAZ may be down 100 points instead of just 40. So why arent the small investors selling? BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THOSE ANALYSTS WHO ARE SAYING 11,000+. But those analysts saying 11,000 ARE SELLING TODAY - SO WHO IS THE FOOL!!!!! I realise these are strong comments, which I normally try to avoid. Well, lets just say that the proof will come if we start selling off hard soon and the DOW does not get much above 10,000. If the DOW gets to 11,000, then I was wrong, but if the DOW only gets to 10,000 or slightly above, say 10,200 then I was right. So if I am right the BIG BOYS pocket their gains at the expense of the small fry. Hey, Im not saying that eventually we are not going higher, just that there were SO MANY who are CERTAIN that we would easily slice right through 10,000 and zoom much higher. The DOW will most likely surpass 10,000 soon, but not to go higher but to keep the small investors in as long as possible so the BIG BOYS can POCKET THEIR GAINS. Well thats what most want - right? - for the BIG BOYS to make money off the small investor. Sorry for my cynical/sarcastic attitude. Seeya
