DN, Please note that I have been saying I don't expect Intel to warn or even show weakness in their eps fictional exercise. I do think they are having a tough time, but they have lots of tricks.

I think the software makers have taken a big hit and will take more before this nuclear winter is over, but, right now, dead cat bounces in that area look very attractive. These are very good companies, though they aren't as good as the market usually prices them. They just happen to be in a business that is sucking right now. It is like buying SLB a few months ago, IMHO.

DN, I think the Intel bears are looking for a revenue miss or disappointment earnings are easier to smooth temporarily. It may be hard to goose revenue if the inventory of unsold PCs is as large as some believe. Mike
