Yes, for the most part. I believe that some of the IDSL variations will be able to leverage certain ISDN plug in hardware from a few vendors, such as ASND's 2B+D line, but those are not ADSL, strictly speaking. True ADSL services will require new plug-in modems for the PC, or a NIC card for the PC and a standalone ADSL unit that integrates routing and DSL termination functions. Beyond that, there are those ADSL units which also feature voice. Some combinations (combined data and voice offering) will be supported by units mounted at the entry point, near the network termination device where the xLEC's wires enter the residence. There is no singularly standard arrangement... and almost all of them will involve the addition of new hardware by the user. Frank_C.
