Or use your browser BACK button to return to the previous page. Nineteen companies working in the German interactive TV market have come together to form FUN, a new platform for digital TV in Germany. The intention of the alliance between media and technology companies is to ensure competition, diversity, freedom of opinion and unimpeded access for all market participants in digital television.
The centre-piece of FUN is the definition of a technology platform as the basis for the distribution and use of digital programmes. OpenTV is one of the partners and its operating system lies at the heart of the initiative which is also being backed by broadcasters ARD and ZDF.
The following are the founding members of the organisation:

ARD-Erstes Deutsches Fernsehen Convergence Integrated Media GmbH
EchoStar International Corporation EUROSPORT FERNSEH GmbH
Galaxis Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH GI/FUBA Cummunications GmbH
GEMPLUS GmbH idee Medien
Institut der Rundfunktechnik GmbH Stefan Kleine-Erfkamp
LM Medienberatung NetStage GmbH
OpenTV, Europe SCIP GmbH
TV MOVIE ONLINE TechiSat Digital GmbH
Thyssen Multimedia GmbH Mediagate GmbH
