Actually Clinton is a bit of a lightweight. He nevertheless has a handle on the shallowness of the public. He knows the things that will impress a shallow public. Joe Six-pack will get impressed when he hears passion peppered with a bunch of words and numbers that he does not understand. “Yuck yuck. Ah hurd Clint'n liest nite own the TeeVee. Boy he shor wuz sumthin'. Ol' Dole wuz nothin' compared to that Clint'n. We need a mayan lak that in the White House.” Jane Merlot will get impressed when she sees Clinton's big hair, puffy face and frankfurter nose. “I think he's kinda handsome, definitely more handsome than Dole, Bush or RAYGUN. Yeah, I'll vote for him.” That is how it goes. From now on, presidential candidates will have to acquire a kind of Oprahesque presentation.

Excessive glibness can be symptomatic of a psychopath. If I had to put my finger on the one characteristic of Clinton that I find most repugnant it is his hyper glibness. I'm serious, it's unnatural.
