<<I don't get it either. Analysts can upgrade a stock one day and downgrade it the next.
Investors should bring class actions against these crooks>>

Give the stupid paranoia a rest. I think ORCL has a bright future. But this quarter simply came up lame, and analysts are responding accordingly. The big funds that are dumping this stock have internal analysts who apparently agree with the buy side guys.

Try to be more objective with your investments.

MIKE

IMO, most analysts prostitute themselves on behalf of their brokerage employers. The ones that are intellectually honest. usually don't keep their jobs too long.

As long as you keep in mind that stocks are "pushed" you'll do fine in your investments.

Most analysts come from top notch business schools and have certifications (e.g. ,CFA) not because it's really required for the job, but because it helps to draw in the clients who are impressed by credentials.

BTW, it's my belief that once the "internet bubble" bursts, many of these well known analysts are going to be hung out to dry and will be the scapegoats for the politicians when they need to blame somebody for the public losing its shirt.
