I think the expense to ORCL of developing their own ORB in-house
would be too great. I think Larry is smart enough to let the market
determine what the ORB of choice should be and then follow that. ORCL
is doing just fine letting INPR and ORBIX slug it out and kill eachother. Why should ORCL want to re-invent the wheel ? If Larry were
smart he would focus on RDBMS's and not try to rule the world. How is his el-cheapo internet PC doing ?
Although a $20 takeout of INPR would not be a terrible alternative to
having IBM or CA own the ORB.
