Remedy would be just plain dumb. VNTV makes some sense if they want a full front office suite. but vntv stock isn't acting like that's going to happen. usually the fast money gets wind of it before it's announced. remember scopus?

I have heard that IBM's acquisition of SA/Tivoli has been a downer from the SA side. It is hard to customize. I would bet that Lou will cut its losses on SA and go shopping again--this time for VNTV. Product has a great architecture and the IBM reps alongside the VNTV team would do a great job selling it. As far as ORCL being a likely candidate to take this market...hold your breath. I think pride stands in the way. I love Larry's admission that the future of ORCL is the front office. I agree he is right. The issue is who is going to deliver it. I would rather use SEBL/VNTV/RMDY any day compared to the crap that is in ORCL FO. Not a good UI, takes an army to implement (you thought SAP was complex). I doubt that KPMG has the talent to help Larry either. The problem is--does anyone employed at ORCL know how to retain the talent they have had? Luongo says that ORCL has the worst retirement plan in the industry. He is right. The field is littered with great products from ex-Oracle talent. I vote for IBM to snatch VNTV--and bring Katrina's company along for the ride. Then blue will have the FO/BO strategy that Larry so desperately desires.
