"Sugar's dirt cheap." - not quite true, at least in these parts. Sugar is trading above six cents US per pound - tfc-charts.w2d.com A neighbour just made a sale of some [admittedly unscreened and weedy] topsoil that I piled up for him a few years ago, it went for 8.00Cdn/yard loaded fob his place. I compute that to be .005Cdn/lb [8.0Cdn/1600 lbs/yd (it fluffs up somewhat but it's quite wet, being March on the Wet Coast and all)]. Of course if you were going to sell it as a contract on Comex you'd have to add delivery, storage, and commissions, but still i don't think you would obtain today the price of sugar, especially considering the exchange rate differential. The inbred cultural prejudice for sugar as a sweetener may be a factor here, people seem to completely ignore the fact that dirt grows better roses. Now stevia - stevia sells for 5.95, 6.95, 7.95 [one of those, i forget which] per 30 gram bag, in my friend's health food store. It is, however, supplied by a reputable source. And pure. .... but hey, that's about $264,783Cdn/yard [assuming that it's dry] ... guess what i'm gonna grow my roses in.

News! Gary Dobry (aka Spider Valdez) called to the carpet by ITHC lawyer On March 1, Dobry initiated a smear campaign on Peter Schur (and a number of others) as a possible reason for ITHC's recent woes: #reply-8091596. Today he talked to ITHC's lawyer who finally set him straight. Dobry was then compelled to write this: i just talked to mr. pittera. he seems very set on cleaning up ithc & informed me the "promoter" in question is the, now deceased, stanley wilnot, & that peter shur has assisted him greatly in "cleaning-up" ithc. #reply-8292363 - Jeff
