MIke a protective stop would have been quite enough... that's why they are called 'protective' stops. My position in NTBK is about 4 months old (in at 22) now so I set a much wider protective stop because of the profit already gained in NTBK. In fact I don't even have a protective stop yet 'cause we are talking over 3 digit gain on just 200 shares. Same with ORCL I am in at 17 and although Of course it bothers me that its down 27% or so, I will be averaging down and since I plan to hold this one indefinitely here too I have no protective stop. On the other hand ORCL was a trade which I actually had a small point gain, and since it was already showing very strong and clear indications of a downdraft it would have been expedient to exit the postion already on Wednesday.

buy signals are not 'invenerate'.. they trigger but they can also pull back, especially if resistance is met. That's why you have to watch your positions. I have no strategy on either NTBK, CKFR and SE just yet but maybe next week I might consider taking profits in CKFR and SE and putting in stops in NTBK.

Mike,

If it will make you feel any better... I too still have my NTBK... I don't believe in selling low so I'm keeping this one... I do have a floating mental stop at 48... floating, because I revise it up/down factoring in current market conditions. I've held it for a while as well... selling a portion on significant rises and repurchasing same portion on dips which can happen intra day or once a week... it's a variation of daytrading I've been succesful with... I like to hold onto the good stocks until it dries up... NTBK/VRIO/USWB are far from that, all of which showed a lot of red today... but not significant enough to trigger my mental stop.

Jenna announces when she takes profit... and there are times I do the same as courtesy to those that PM me to announce when I get out of a particular stock... Jenna's calls are in a class by itself, anyone claiming better success that I've observed in this thread has to pad their "called" transactions... there's really no reason to do that and I haven't seen that here...
