Bruce Lewis called me Wednesday to correct a couple of things on my post. 1. He did not invent the UPS. He implemented it in all meat, bakery, and vegetable departments in grocery stores in Canada. 2. He did not work for Symbol. 3. The available UPC numbers are not 43 billion but 43 trillion. 4. The code they use is PDF417, a two dimensional stacked bar code. You can destroy 3/4 of it and it still reads. 5. Lumonics, the world's leader in laser etching machinery, is Tracker's strategic partner. 6. Symbol Technologies is the world's leader in bar code technology and data management. 80% of the scanners in this world are manufactured by them. They are Tracker's strategic partner and now equity partner. Remember, Tracker has the EXCLUSIVE use of Symbol's code for their industry in the world. (Of course Tracker is the only company in their industry.) Bruce confirmed they are talking to HP. Jeff is right on about Sony play station. The code is etched on in the orient, scanned when it leaves the factory, scanned when it arrives in the USA, scanned when it arrives at Walmart, for example, then scanned when it is sold. Tracker can tell Sony how many units Walmart has on hand, price sold and date sold. If the customer tried to return the play station to another store like Kmart for a refund at a higher price, Kmart can tell just by scanning that the item was not pruchased from them. Good way to prevent consumer fraud. Once the financing is completed, we should see a lot more interest and sales of the system. Companies will need to make an investment into Trackers equipment and they need assurance Tracker will be around to provide their service. The $3.25Mill financing will do this.
