Tom, fortunately you're still young, so you may be able to recover once you blow your 401K. Please post when you execute your short sale so I can track it.

Happy investing,
Frank

Boy are you going to crash and burn. Where have you been? DELL already had it's sell off. I have been telling the thread that I saw less selling pressure the past three days, today was a test book example of the result of that decrease in selling pressure that I have been seeing. You should listen to the market it spoke to you today. One of the best ways to understand the health of the market, is to have a day like today, most stocks reveal themselves when the players have there attention aroused like happen today. I second the motion to have you please report when you go short..

Greg

I'd suggest that you keep posting to yourself when you make these kinds of baseless remarks. DELL has consolidated, and should improve from here.

Say there Dummy, er uh, Thomas.

Buy here and go long. That's the play.

Also, did you know that you are speaking to a group who collectively can predict the direction of this stock better than anyone (i.e. "money managers", overpaid "analysts" & "professionals") I've witnessed in my short 7 years of investing.

But maybe you're like me and have to learn your lessons "the hard way". You know, effective but expensive.

A fool and his money are soon parted,

Putting a large amount of retirement money into a short position is getting a little bit carried away:)

Anyway, on a more sober note regarding valuations, check out this barrons article

interactive.wsj.com

Talks about Dell's short position, among more interesting things.

I can't short in my Keoghs or IRA. I expect you can't short in your 401k

I was unaware that you are allowed to short stocks in a 401K. How were you able to accomplish this?
