.... people who get faxes have a fax machine.

No. I have no fax machine, I have efax instead of.

->Consider having a lot of "consumers" without internet but with a fax machine. They can fax into a mailbox when the adressee has no longer an fax machine or

->The receiver can turn up the fax on his PC WITHOUT messing around with a fax paper + a scanner to get the document into its PC to store it. YOu know how durable a fax print on thermo paper is. Half a year... to archive it it is a good solution.

->And the good ol' fax will be around for some time as people don't want to afford scanners and scan paper documents to send it over via the PC. As the paperless world is still a vision for the 22th century and onwards, if ever.

C.

NOT TRUE -- I have used the EFAX service many times and it saves me from buying a good $200-$300 fax machine. EFAX to recieve and modem to send out saves me another 300 plus upkeep .. plus its easy and doesnt waste paper, since you can read it and trash it or save it on your computer. Good for businesses too. Easier for job placement services to recieve resumes.
