Isn't the 6 month period where any possible acquiror can't use the pooling of interest method over next week (due to option repricing in Sept)?

And didn't Tellabs CEO state a few months ago that Ciena felt it was worth 35 to 40 per share in any takeover? At 40, that's a juicy 49% premium.

Maybe (not counting on it)an acquiror will emerge soon, as Ericcson and Siemens have yet to make a significant acquisition recently while everyone else has

Let's hope so...

Hey chin up!

We must realize that the 'market' mostly does know all the wonderful potential of this stock that most of us on this thread have come to appreciate! I truly appreciate the many knowledgeable comments.

Its likely on the way up but chart will continue to be jagged. If more of my stocks had performed as well as this one since October I could retire...

Do I vaguely remember something about the 15th of this month being the earliest that the company can enter some sort of 'arrangement'? Can somebody refresh my memory on this?

CIEN will cross 30 next week. CIEN management will not sell the company for anything less than 50. right now CIEN is the only company that ships 40 & 96 channels products. Sprint has already committed to use CIEN gear for the rest of this year because no other vendors come close to CIEN product lines. Telemonde in France used the first 96 channel for commercial deployment throughout Europe. Enron, CLECs in Japan, and soon Latin countries are going to deploy CIEN gear. There is a possibility that CIEN will be back in the 60's again by the end of this year. CIEN has slowly gained back credibility with customers with quality and innovative products that no other vendors come close to match. I will accumulate as much as possible if it dips down to the low 20's ( which I doubt will happen). Low 40's to high 40's by next earning.
