Back in the early 90's I closed a deal (commercial real estate) and wanted to put $100k in Berkshire-- it was around $8k-- my broker talked me out of it.

Same broker who talked me out of the Net stocks last year.

Ex-broker.

10 shares at 80,000 = $800,000.

I am crying again....

I noticed that B.H. has already spent 40 of the sixty in remediation for year2000..
I couldn't find any numbers which would have reflected if Buffett
had been loaning out silver and buying back at lower prices..
rumors and rumors

Warren Buffett has increased his position in cash and bonds by 23 billion dollars.

John,

More than that, the gold bugs out here who were looking for Buffett to confirm their belief in gold will be sadly disappointed.

I mean, how could Mr. "Conservative Investor" himself choose bonds and FIAT CASH over gold??

Appears he's not quite ready to write off the current financial system as quickly as Ole 49r is.

Regards,

Ron

Re BH, Buffet quotes in his Chairman's letter, General
Re has the capital of Fort Knox behind it. Anyone
else reading between the lines? Buffet is one slick
poker player not commenting on his Ag stocks. It wouldn't
surprise me if that idle cash heads for more precious
metals. His principles are so simple and grounded. Y2K
sounds like a big concern to him.
