Mike,

There are those who believe that cost averaging down is throwing good money after bad... I do it but only on certain situations... esp when I'm extremely bullish in a stock... VRIO/USWB are examples I've done recently. Some people call it "buying on dips"... it's all the same and has a place on a person's strategy. Of course, cost averaging when a stock is in an obvious sell-off stage is foolish... I would rather vacate the stock and take the losses.
