Anyone know what in the heck happened with NVLS today? Strong open, pull back, then stuck in the mud all afternoon.

Thanks,

sf

Merrill's Semi Equip report on Monday said that NVLS was being weighed down by the secondary offering, but when it goes back to trading at its 50 DMA, NVLS should be at $64. Also the report noted that Intel has commenced its "tool of record" decision on its P860 process, 0.13 design rules using a copper interconnect. Merrill believes that Novellus has the lead in being chosen as Intel's "tool of record" for electroplating (with EEJA and AMAT as bridesmaids). "Tools of record" are expected to be named by June '99 and are the announced favorites for being given Intel's business.

The book to bill ratio for Feb will come out on the 18th. Look for this to move the semi equip market, as the signs of accelerating demand show more clearly.
