mb, you mentioned w & r. They're BIG in small towns, they seem to have more loyal shareholders, the accounts are modest, and the shareholders don't make a move without talking to their 'avon person' <G>. the funds seem to be more conservative, and most of the money is in retirement accounts. the stock has tanked but the business is highly profitable. Also been around forever. They have an annuity business which is growing. I KNOW what happens to egrp and schawb when the sxxx hits the fan, but what happens to wdr?

9. Sounds good -- I bought Chaste puts yesterday <g>

so which brokers did they rate as best for us cheapskates who don't want to pay for Forbes? <VBG>

They liked SCH and EGRP and AMTD? Was there anything in there that said web trading was over-rated and you might get better execution with a firm by paying a little bit more to have enough folks to answer the phone when things get thick?

Why should I pay for Forbes when you can summarize everything that is important? All the rest is just advertising, right? <g>
