Peppe- No need to be sarcastic. Alcatel has been the ADSL leader for years. They won the JPC contract a few years ago and, besides the group of RBOCs, they have Bell Canada and a long string of others. They're also the leader in ADSL chips. The following links may be helpful. This one's in French, but it doesn't take knowledge of the language to translate, "ALCATEL LEADER MONDIAL DANS LES SYSTEMES ADSL. . . Alcatel leader en Amérique du Nord avec 52 % de part de marché "alcatel.com ; alcatel.com ;alcatel.com ;alcatel.com ;alcatel.com ;alcatel.com ; Cisco and GTE:cisco.com The property's telephone equipment room, which acts as a concentrator, is outfitted with the RADSL modems, a Cisco Ethernet switch and Cisco 2500 Series routers to direct the data traffic between the Internet and subscribers. In each of the subscribers' units is an ADSL modem that operates with a companion ADSL system located in the telephone equipment room. A high-speed T-1 line (1.544Mbps) links the telephone equipment room to the Internet. Cisco and Dell:cisco.com Dell® Dimension® PCs with factory-installed Cisco Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) internal modems for select U S WEST customers are designed to provide customers an easy solution for high-speed Internet access. In addition, service and support is provided for the modems under Dell's standard system 3-year limited warranty** and 24-hour, toll-free hardware phone support. To receive this offering, customers must be in a select U S WEST coverage area and their Internet service providers must support U S WEST MegaBit Services. Cisco has a long list of products that enable DSL, besides the modem they're selling to Dell, so it's possible the statistics you posted have a broad definition. Pat
