Well George,
After writing an at length and very detailed response to Don, I trashed it all. After reading your more than capable and very eloquent post I had a tear in my eye. I could not have said it any better in any terms, thank you very much...

George,

(Also keep in mind there are many here who have major positions
in DCI who read but rarely or never post on SI.)

George,
I too, like Bruce, was blown away by your post. I spoke with Bruce last night for about 30 minutes. I was also ready to reply, as Bruce was, but you caught both of us off-guard by your eloquent post. I instinctively knew there was nothing I could add that would not pale by comparison.
First, let me thank you personally for including my name along with the others that have spent so much of their time and effort in trying to help others. We do have a unique thread and an even more unique group of truly good people. I have been blessed to have met many of the regular posters that I now consider some of my very best friends.
I also consider people like yourself that I have not had the opportunity to meet to be my very good friends. I have talked to so many on numerous occasions that I do feel that we have known each other for years.
The first board I ever took part in was the ol' CIFRA thread on Prodigy's Money Talk board. This was the only board that has ever compared to our current DCTC thread. Lou Truex and others were responsible for running a very clean thread in those days many moons ago. I learned so much from Lou. I can remember the day I called him about a Mexican ADR I was invested in at the time. I had noticed in the Investor's Business Digest (Daily) that my stock had a little o behind the symbol. Lou explained that it meant you could do options on that stock. My immediate question was "what are options"? I've come a long way.<g> I can't tell you how much I have learned from Lou because he took the time to be patient with me. He and his lovely wife have visited us at our home (Oklahoma to Ohio is a pretty good jaunt).
Scott Spaulding (Fat Man) has visited from Tennessee on several occasions. I consider Scott as a brother and son all rolled into one.
Bruce Galpeer has also visited from Maryland on a couple of occasions. He even flew out to help me set up my new computer a few years back. He is also the reason we now have a new puppy for Diana. On one of his visits he and his brother Ward visited and brought Samantha, his beautiful Golden Labrador. My daughter fell in love and the rest is history.
Ken Williams used to live in eastern Ohio and now lives in West Virginia. He has visited a couple of times. Ken would constantly call asking about my Dad as many others have done. He too was going through hard times as his daughter spent 8 months of her pregnancy in bed. I can remember lighting a candle for her at church as I did for another good friend, Ed Pettee, who went through cancer surgery. Ed called my wife constantly when I went in the hospital in October. Great ending--Ken is a proud Grandpa, Ed is playing golf again, and I'm still hear to write about it.
Last July, when we flew into Orlando for the Annual Shareholder's Meeting, Rick LaMarre was there with a sign saying "Welcome Grupo Brad" and gave us a lift into our hotel in "DisneyWorld". Wasn't it Kitty Kallen that once sang "Little Things Mean Alot"? Then, to top that night off, as we were walking from our gate to look for the baggage claim--- a voice proclaimed--You've got to be "Grupo Brad"!
It was Mark Giombetti, who drove all the way from Cocoa Beach just to greet us. He had to referee an AAU League basketball game early the next day but just wanted to be there. I asked him how he knew who I was and he replied--"You're voice is very distinctive". <g> Too many phone calls I guess! <g>
James Alton has been a friend as long as Lou, as I first met him on the CIFRA board also. I finally had a chance to meet him at last year's meeting also. He and his wife are truly wonderful people. James is very low-keyed but very diligent in his research and analysis. He adds a very important ingredient to our thread with his low-key approach.
I'm getting to the point where I know I'm going to leave some people out but I'll continue to ramble on and do the best I can.
Artie Dromerhauser, Gary Ruderman, Darryl McSherry, Marvin Mansky, & Barbara Proctor are others I have had the privilege to meet at shareholders's meetings. Again, great new relationships and new friendships all because of a common interest.
There are so many more such as Chuck Catlett, Stephan Bender and a long list of others such as you George that I want to mention but I would never finish this post. You all know who you are and I apologize for not mentioning you personally.
Now we come to Joe Medsker. I cannot say enough about Joe. I have known him for 31 years. We live about 5 miles from one another. We could not ask for better friends than Joe & Susan Medsker. People don't realize how much Joe has done for the shareholders of DCI. There has been some kidding around about where to hold the special meeting. The main reason that Joe Murphy wants to have it in Dayton, Ohio is simply because we have such a large shareholder base in this area. If I had to guess, I would say somewhere in the area of 3 Million shares in the hands of long-termers. It is Mr. Murphy's way of saying thank you.
Lastly, with all due apologies for the many I have not mentioned, I want to once and for all say how truly fortunate I have been to become friends of DCI. Joe and Pat Murphy, Dan Murphy, Craig Murphy, Larry Shatsoff, Russ Hintz, Jack Adams, Lois Morris and all the other officers of all our subsidiaries-----I thank you for giving my family a great opportunity to better our lives. I also wanted to mention that I have spoken daily with the family of Erica Baker. They are so appreciative of DCI's involvement. I sent two glossies and all the information to Donnie Gross at Edge and he has already sent the materials to the printer. Erica's aunt and brother delivered the materials to my place. Erica's aunt asked if she could pick up our little puppy. She hugged her and started to cry. She said "I wish this could be Erica". Needless to say, I lost total control.

I want to close by telling everyone that we will be going to the nursing home today to celebrate my Dad's 92nd Birthday. Please keep him in your thoughts.
