verio's tie up with aol could be huge if aol can get small businesses into its service ... aol must do that before we'll know if verio paying aol ...

from Verio: "Under the terms of the agreement, AOL will receive guaranteed payments totaling a minimum of $42.5 million from Verio, and will also participate in future revenue sharing under the terms specified in the agreement. In exchange, Verio will receive significant online advertising and promotion of a co-branded Verio and AOL Web site that will offer a broad range of Verio Web-hosting products and e-commerce solutions. Among AOL's and CompuServe's combined 18 million members, more than three million represent Verio's target market of small and medium-sized businesses."

the small and medium sized b market is the bread and butter of ALL business...more than 10 million fit into this category in the u.s. alone and with netscape merged into aol verio has the chance to reach a sizable percent of them
