I don't think you are missing anything. Personally I think dsl technology is the way to go. Cable modems are user rate dependent, The more users on a line the slower the signal til it slows to much less than you need to download files or vod. The problem with xdsl is that it has been slow in coming to town. It is just now really being rolled out on a nationwide basis. I can't wait for vdsl but in the states it may take a while. I think in the next year or two many of the wired world will be broadbanded. VDAT has said that with the MPEG [compression] available the first half of this year that they will be able to deliver video over even 28kpbs modems. As I hear it the slowness with VDAT making the announcements re partnering is that they have had so many companies wanting to do busines and own a part of the company that they have stepped back while they grow the content variety and volume. UNEWY MSFT DIS and Yahoo have all been rumored to be interested in formalizing a relationship with VDAT the content company with the professional production capabilities. sounds like the biggest problem is they need to grow the company from an administrative marketing standpoint in order to deal with all the opportunities knocking at their door. I have been very impressed with Mr. Selman and what he has accomplished and with the fact that he has answered each and every one of my e mails that same day. He seems to be highly motivated, talented, and with a strong vision of where he wants the company to go.
