Thanks Keith,

Good analysis. There's only one hair splitting inane quibble that I have though. It is your use of the boldface type on "strong" as in strong profits. So I did some research and here are my results, your mileage may vary. The baseline is profit margin of BRCM as reported by Yahoo Finance: 17%

You made me take a look at a few sites: xls.com - Hoover's reports 627 stocks with P/M >/=18%,

rapidresearch.com - Rapid Research reports 2,796 stocks with P/M= 18% or greater.

wsrn.com - WSRN could not generate a tally of all companies with a P/M 18% or greater. The list of the first 100 ended with ACX Technologies, listing alphabetically, draw your own conclusions.

dailystocks.net - Daily screens reports 8,119 stocks matching P/M = 18% or >.

schwabnet.com - Scwab lists 711 meeting criteria.

My point is BRCM has very good but, IMHO, less than STRONG profits.
ROE & ROI, OTOH, are delightful.

Threaders, just wondering, there's a heck of a spread on the # of Co.s
meeting criteria. 627 to 8119. Sheesh, can anyone make sense of this?

Best, Ray
