"You can't argue that General Motors is guilty of an antitrust violation because it sells windshields on new cars. You can technically separate a windshield from a car and sell each apart from the other. But most people consider a windshield to be a part of a car." - to me, that's the best analogy

For a real, true illegal monopolist... look at Phillip Morris (Marlboro's) vs. RJ Reynolds (Winston):

"The lawsuit claims a new Philip Morris (MO) program scheduled to begin April 1 effectively prevents other cigarette brands from competing at participating retail outlets...."

- basically, P. Morris is buying up all the open shelf space. This is truly unfair. But what MSFT has done, is just make a better cigarette; which is totally legal.
