Your vision in post 8233 is correct, but you make the false conclusion that Iomega will be the chief benefactor of these trends.

Explosion in Internet downloads.

Let me comment. The vision of the future (especially in business) is the CENTRALIZATION of storage. Desktop boxes will keep getting cheaper and lower functioned (except for speed of course). It is much easier to manage and maintain availability of data with this architecture. This is a well known and demonstrated fact. Can you imagine a large business storing their mission critical data on hundreds of ZIPS? Please! If you believe that, then you have no clue about this market. Go back and invest in Home Depot. Otherwise, invest in EMC! They will benefit profusely...

For home use, a similar model will develop. Primary storage will be the large hard drive (9Gbytes by 2000) for higher end PCs, but at the ISP for ultra low-end internet appliances.

With respect to mobile computing, CLIK! doesn't cut it. Sorry, but this is true. Too fragile, difficult OEM model, slow write speed, and the power solution is way too cumbersome.
