Good for you.
I think you're more likely to excuse gov't incompetence since you realize there is little you can do about it. On the other hand, outrage over the incompetence of a private organization is likely to yield results.....
I have rarely dealt with a competent gov't bureaucracy. I have dealt with many incompetent private ones, too. I have no recourse with the former, but I get results when I complain about the latter.
