CMGI...

Shuo:

After all is said and done CMGI should be a good long term investment... Short term it's being affected by the perception that the bulk of its earnings are coming from Capital Gains... Surprise, surprise, what else would you expect from a holding company... Perhaps there is some question as to how many more homeruns CMGI can hit...

It's early in the Internet growth cycle, and CMGI will continue doing its thing... In the short term Daytraders will ride it up and ride it down... Now just happens to be a ride it down time...

Hi shuo, my sense is that it will take one of the following

1. Resolution of the LCOS deal

2. Announcement of a split

3. Bringing out an internet IPO on the market

to reverse cmgi's trend back up. A sell the rally reaction would be likely if there is short-term surge from cmgi's presentation at the Paine Weber conference. Unless Weatherall makes an announcement relative to one of the three items above, any surge would most likely be short-lived. cmgi has already presented at two conferences the past two weeks ... what else has the Street not already heard?

It is possible that cmgi would revisit 140's and even 120-122, breakout points are often retested.

cmgi needs to establish base and consolidate.
