Bongagong, You won't believe this but, I didn't watch the fight. Yesterday I had to walk some property lines and inspect a cabin before I close so I was up at 4AM. By the time I got back after about 250 round trip and all the walking around, I showered and passed out on the couch waiting for the fight! Lewis and Holyfield going at it and I'm sleeping, figures. Pay per view? Oh yes please, why just let me throw 50 bucks out the window. Some thoughts: 1) GNET has received well over a million dollars worth of advertising BEFORE the bell. 2) This is yet another example of GNET management at work and why I say GNET is David with a rock and a sling. One eyed big boy IAPs beware. 3) This was a highly "controversial" bout which went the distance. This means if go2net was on his trunks, then people viewed go2net for a long time. It also means the tape will be played over and over for years to come. HBO may end up showing it next and everybody will want to be the judge (watch the fight so they can form an opinion as many say Lewis won the fight). Again if go2net was on his trunks, more awareness of GNET for years to come. Holyfield said after the bout that he would give Lewis another shot in six months. How many times will this fight be shown before the next one? 4) RE: Bill F., Some of you people need to lighten up. Now Bill is a big boy and can stick up for himself but I'd like to make a few points here. First, You try writing every day and making everyone happy. Second, Bill unlike most experts does not hide from the media after a bad call. He is right there, several experts call for DOW 7000, and then when we run to near 10,000 they hide the whole time. Only to pop up and say "I predict we could see 11,500 by July". I respect Bill for being on TV and dealing with people on this board, I respect a man that doesn't hide. 5) I don't know about you but, Bill F. always makes me think, so I got my monies worth right there. Just my opinions so don't write nasty stuff back, this is SI and we have some class here. Most of what gets posted is "opinions" so mellow out some of you. Example: It is my opinion that guys give Bill a hard time because they wish they had his hair. It is my opinion that the women that don't like him have either balding hubbies or boyfriends so they don't like him. I could be right, I could be wrong, just my opinion, what we really pay for here, to read what others think or have them make us think.
