Few people know how our company name was derived. The secret? One of our founders is an
admirer of William of Occam, a 13th century philosopher and theologian famous for his rule
known as "Occam's Razor": that is, a plurality of reasons should not be posited without necessity.
In other words, the simplest answer is the best answer -- a dictum Accom has employed to great
advantage. Taking creative liberty, we switched the letters "A" and "O", and added an accent
because it looked nice. The correct pronunciation is "a'-kom" (the first syllable rhymes with
"may").
