Aitch: "Victor checked Vinod out briefly and felt his track record"

All I did was check his date of registration with SI and his previous posts. I also sent him a message on the board and in a PM pointing out that his posting appeared to contain material information that could cause peole to trade, and that several of us had gone to a lot of trouble to try to verify it, and would he explain its source.

I agree that the format appears to ape a series of wire headlines. If the source was an engineer at CPQ, as Vinod explained, why would he do that? I notice that Vinod explains his investment style in words to the effect that he likes to invest in beaten up stocks ready for a bounce. Headlines, like that, if they were widely disseminated, would certainly have caused CPQ's share price to bounce.

H.... I didn't say or mean to infer that you had made that post. I said to you that the person who had made the post was a worthwhile contributor to the thread. To go further, Vinod has been around for quite a while and although he isn't a thread regular, he pops in here from time to time with a news release from CPQ, in the same format, and they have always been early(ahead of anyone else), AND ACCURATE. I don't doubt Vinod's credibility for a minute and his sources have always been on the money. If this latest info is not true and valid, it is a first. I would be more inclined to believe that the info was true than a hoax. El
