Edwarda, I can pretty much guarantee you that your dish, which is undoubtedly very desirable to those with a distinguished palate, would never make it to my mouth, let alone a plate.

I used to embarrass my parents when I was younger (and probably my wife, now). If it didn't look good, I wouldn't even try it. My parents soon learned that it was not wise to take me to places where we were going to having something edible because when forced to try something I had made up my mind I wouldn't like, I would let the person who made it know of my displeasure by facial gestures, a "yuk! I hate this!", and if it didn't make it down to my stomach, it would end up back on the plate.

I could never understand why parents would make their children eat something which they obviously didn't want in the first place just to make their host's dish worthy of consumption.

"I'd like my salad dry. And please, leave off the special sauce." he said to the wait staff before they left the table.
