David...

Appreciate the objective reporting... I am currently educating myself preparing to buy a new digital camera. The more I read and learn it's clear to me that smart cards, flash memory, memory stick, etc... Is preferable to CLIK!... If there were a bunch of cameras out there with CLIK! built in it would be a different story... I don't think we'll see many cameras with CLIK! built in anytime soon, if ever...

Regards

BBG

The April PC World (p88) gives a mixed but encouraging review of Clik!. The most encouraging part is at the beginning:

"Clik will replace the more expensive and inconvenient CompactFlash cards currently used by most digital cameras"

The article faults the Clik! for being too pricy. It also found the procedure for downloading data from flash memory onto a Clik! very awkward; that Clik! cannot coexist with other parallel port devices a "hassle"; and the need for AC power to connect to Windows CE handhelds makes it very unsuitable for use on the road.

It would seem that the first problem goes away with the introduction of cameras with build in Clik! and the second goes away with the USB Clik! The third point I don't really understand.
