sony has had a p/e for the last few years that has varied from about 15-30 depending on the qtr. this particular article that you reference might be referring to this qtr which could be lean or create a loss due to restructuring. but that does not detract from the basic fact that sony has quite a modest p/e in general since the japanese crash 8 years ago.

in fact, sony is being seen by some players as a value stock due to its low p/e.

as you know a p/e can fluctuate wildly and i think that your information may be an isolated instance, but i will look into it--thank you for the info.
