Steve,

Thanks for adding to our discussion on the "quiet period".

So to summarize your post, you think that the underwriter has "pull" on the stock when it initiates coverage after the period? If Goldman underwrites a stock, then it will initiate a buy more than likely at the end of the quiet period. And since Goldman is a powerful analyst firm, the stock surges upwards. If a less powerful underwriter is involved, then the stock may not move upwards as quickly.

***StockHawk...you are on to it...*g*

I think we need to start tracking these better...

Steve Davis...IPO's

I guess we just need to keep a
'calendar' of stocks as they IPO..
Your point about the underwriter is
a good one..stay with the 'quality'
underwriters..We can use my prior post
as a reference and build from there.
I was looking at this coming week's
offerings and three seemed interesting
to me.. all in the internet space..

FLAS 3mm shs = Flashnet
MLTX 3mm shs = Multext
IVIL 3.6mm shs = I-Village

Jim in CT .. add others as you seem them

Steve,

Not knowing much about underwriters, could you or anyone else provide a list of which underwriters have the most influence on these IPO's. TIA
