Daniel,

I think Seagate would have something to say about INTC making overtures to SNDK. The CMPNet post from earlier today stated...

"RAID, in fact, has been a boon to the SSD market. By adding just one or two SSD drives to a RAID system, overall performance can be increased dramatically over that of an all-fixed disk-drive system. As RAID systems gain popularity, sales for SSD drives should continue to break records..."

and

"Solid-state memory use in cache applications is expected to increase 425 percent from 1998 to 2002. The main driver here is the growth in Internet usage, fueling the need for high-speed connections. Solid-state cache memory will become more common in Internet applications."

Seagate is going to have to learn a few new tricks and solid state memory may be one they have up their sleeve.

Also, based on the above quotation I finally feel it is safe to say the SNDK is an internet play (as if digital photography and mp3 weren't enough proof).

Hope we have another good week.
