Hotel faxes, since they are shared with other guests, are much less discreet than a fax machine within a corporation. .

Auric spoke of people "on the road". I strongly doubt that they carry a company fax with them.

Hotel fax machines may be much less discreet, and maybe less reliable than your own mailbox. Consider a jerk who throws away a fax with the newest company directives... Years ago I've leared the hard way in Southern Europe. An area which I like for holidays but not for being well organized.

That efax companion makes sense as an addentum to the portable office.

Here's how the system works: When a person wants to
send you a fax, they simply dial your unique eFax
number and press send. Just like regular faxes,
eFaxes can include text, graphics or both.

Once sent, your fax is received at our eFax Service
Center, compressed and protected with your personal
password for security, then instantly forwarded to your
email address.

After you sign up, you'll receive a confirmation email
that includes your eFax number, PIN, plus the eFax
Microviewer. From then on, you only need to return to
our site to get Microviewers for other computers or for
your friends, or to check on your account status. Here's
what a typical eFax attachment will look like:
