You mean, like wood?

I wonder if any of the early shipwreck casualties were folks getting beaned by tossed life rings.

Come to think of it - the Titanic's were probably made of finest Sheffield steel. Tink! glug

The neighbor across the street from my folks had a couple of cork oaks. Good looking trees. I think he got them from the Agriculture Dept sometime in the '40s. They wanted to see if cork would be a viable crop in California.
